Have you ever wondered why democracy is important? I think it is important because you have the freedom to vote. My first reason is that if you don't vote, you have conflict, and conflict is not good. My second is that voting would create a more civilised environment, with less stampedes, riots, and protests. My third and final reason is that you can prevent fighting by voting, and if you fight, you will se many people dying on the streets.
If you don't vote, you have conflict, and conflict is not good. I conducted a survey to find out how many people out of 20 think that conflict is bad. 1 person (5%) said that conflict is good, and 19 people (95%) said that it was bad. I came to the conclusion that the majority of my class (95%) think that conflict is bad. A quote by Mahatma Gandhi read: I object to violence because when it appears to do good, the good is only temporary; the evil it does is permanent. So that shows why it is important not to have conflict. Also, conflict causes many deaths. It also causes communication glitches, rendering many unable to connect to the internet, or unable to call friends and family. Conflict also causes stress, with many wanting to commit suicide. Conflict could also cause infections, spread by accidently stepping on a dead body. That is why it is so important to vote and not have conflict.

Recently, (about 1-2 months ago), Egypt was in the spotlight for the wrong reasons. It started with protests, riots and a few stampedes. They were against their dictator, Mubarak. I don't think they knew what their actions could create. CHAOS- that was what their actions created. They caused Egypt to collapse and fall apart like Humpty Dumpty. And to make things worse, after Mubarak went to jail, the government fell apart, and people enter on rampage, looting shops. If they had voted instead of fighting, none of this would have occurred.
